The scholarship combines financial assistance with the professional connection needed to progress confidently toward inspector registration.
Eligibility
Who can apply
Applicants must be New Zealand registered practising electricians. One scholarship application may be made per person for their initial Electrical Inspector registration.
The offer
What NZEIA provides
The scholarship includes financial support of up to $1,000, paid after the successful applicant presents evidence of Electrical Inspector registration.
NZEIA members can also provide mentoring, study support and practical guidance to help candidates prepare for inspection work.
Commitment
What successful recipients undertake
Successful recipients are expected to begin practising as an Electrical Inspector within six months of passing the examination and continue practising in New Zealand for at least two years.
The recipient will receive two years of NZEIA membership and is expected to follow the association rules and ethics and attend local meetings where practical.
Study pathway
Training requirements
Applicants must commit the time required to complete approved theory and practical training and sit the EWRB Electrical Inspectors examination.

- An approved block course
- Approved weekly night classes with associated practical assessment
Successful recipients are asked to provide NZEIA with a progress update after 12 months of inspection experience.
